The Daughters of Charity Foundation of St. Louis (DCFSL) requires that a Letter of Intent (LOI) be submitted to the Foundation prior to any proposal for a responsive grant. All LOIs will receive a response which will indicate whether or not DCFSL would like to review a full proposal. LOIs are due in the office no later than 4:30pm, February 1st or August 1st. If the date falls on a weekend, the LOI is due in the Foundation office the Friday before. Letters of Intent will receive a response within three weeks. If an organization is asked to submit a full proposal, it will be due three weeks from the date of notification. Agencies are encouraged to call the office at (314) 802-2060 to discuss project ideas prior to submitting a Letter of Intent.
Eligibility Requirements:
Please read the following carefully. It is critical to the application process. The letter of intent must be no more than 2 pages in length. Do not include any photos, brochures or other attachments. The Letter of Intent must be signed by the Executive Director of the organization. The following information must be included in the letter of intent in order to be reviewed:
Introduction: State your agency’s mission and vision. Indicate briefly what programming the organization conducts to meet this mission and vision.
Statement of Need: Provide a broad overview of the problem or need that is to be addressed including the target population, geographical area and how the organization will be serving the economically poor and vulnerable.
Project Description: Present the project and how the organization will work to address the statement of need.
Funding: Indicate the amount of funding being sought from DCFSL and how the funds will be used. (Responsive grants generally range between $5,000 and $50,000).
